Military Sports

Each year, DSES challenges active duty and veteran athletes with disabilities on weeklong adaptive sport camps in and around Mammoth Lakes. Participants may bring a friend or family member to join them in these experiences as space permits.

Operation Mountain Freedom

Operation High Altitude

What is the Jack & Kathy Copeland Center at Fern Creek Lodge?

This facility has historically been identified as the National Wounded Warrior Center. We are honored to announce the new name, the Jack & Kathy Copeland Center at Fern Creek Lodge. Anchored in a spectacular world class environment for therapeutic outdoor experiences, the facility will serve as a space for thoughtful, self-improvement program offerings for military and service members with disabilities.

The name was selected by champions of the campaign, Ruth and Roger MacFarlane, who motivated a major donation from the Tambour Foundation. The facility name pays homage to the countless hours of work and love Jack and Kathy devoted to the creation of this facility for our great veterans and service members.
